Root canal therapy, otherwise known as endodontic treatment, is a sequence of treatments on the infected pulp of a tooth. The treatment results in the elimination of the infection, which can often save teeth from having to be removed.
Our team of experts here at Plymouth Dental possess a wealth of knowledge and experience, providing our patients with exemplary endodontic treatment.
Root canal treatment is used to repair and potentially save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. If left untreated, abscesses and infections may form in the tissue surrounding the tooth.
The process of treating the relevant area, includes removing the nerve and pulp, followed by cleaning bacteria from inside the tooth; which is then sealed.
Plymouth Dental Centre of Excellence are pleased to accept self referrals from patients as well as from referring clinicians for Endodontic treatment with our in-house specialist, Dr Mohamed Elneklawy. We welcome patients to have their Root Canal Treatment with us at our practice based in Plymouth, with many of our regular referrals travelling from Cornwall, Ivybridge, Plympton and the South Hams.
Mohamed has a great deal of experience in providing exemplary endodontic treatments, re-treatments and dealing with any of the endodontic mishaps like perforations, broken files and dismantling posts. He will also be accepting referrals for microsurgeries including apicectomies in the near future.
Every patient will have a thorough assessment before deciding on starting any of the treatments, followed by a full explanation of the pros, cons and prognosis of every procedure.
The cost of your treatment plan will depend on how severe your case is, so without a prior consultation with a dentist, accurate costs cannot be provided. During your appointment, your dentist will provide you with information on the options available, including finance options to spread the cost of your treatment into manageable monthly payments (terms apply).
