Invisalign® is a clear aligner system designed to straighten teeth in as little as 7 weeks! Unlike fixed braces, there are no wires or brackets. This means there is no metal and they are nearly invisible when you wear them, meaning that you can carry on living your life as normal; without making it obvious that you’re undergoing any type of orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign® can treat a range of orthodontic cases, from small cosmetic alignment, to more severe cases – the treatment can also manipulate your jaw if you suffer from an under or overbite!
Here at Plymouth Dental Centre of Excellence you can come in for a consultation and preview what your new smile could look like with Invisalign®. In the space of 20-30 minutes you can gain an understanding of how the clear aligners will move your teeth and show you an animation of the process, as well as the finished product – straighter, whiter teeth for a more aesthetically pleasing smile.
Following your consultation, your scans will be sent to Invisalign®, who will produce your aligners and send them to your home for you to start your teeth straightening journey. You’ll need to change them every two weeks – after each new set your teeth become straighter until you reach your final set of aligners, after this, you’ll need to wear retainers to hold the new shape of your teeth.
Because the aligners are removable you can maintain good oral hygiene and eat whatever you like – your lifestyle remains uninterrupted with Invisalign®.
Yes, many adults who decide to start their Invisalign® journey with us here at Plymouth Dental have had fixed braces in the past. Many of them weren’t happy with the results or didn’t wear retainers following their fixed brace treatment, Invisalign® is the perfect orthodontic solution to straighten your teeth discretely and effectively.
As mentioned above, you’ll need to wear retainers to hold the position of your straight teeth for a certain period of time. We also offer free teeth whitening & shaping included in many of our Invisalign® treatment packages.
Not every Invisalign® case is the same and as a result, it’s often difficult to provide an accurate cost of each individual’s treatment without a prior consultation. During this, your dentist will explore all of the options available to you, including finance options to spread the cost of your treatment into manageable monthly instalments.
