Dental Treatment Under Sedation

Sometimes our calming and supportive practice support staff or our clinicians excellent chair-side manner isn’t enough to help more anxious patients to feel at ease. That’s why we offer IV sedation to our patients to help them feel calm at all times during their appointment. An extremely safe method to greatly reduce stress and anxiety, IV sedation is a popular solution among our patients. More information regarding this can be found below…

What is IV Sedation?

Intravenous (IV) sedation is a drug that is administered through an injection, which is normally placed in the back of the hand. The effects of the treatment is described as a similar relaxation to sleep, although IV sedation doesn’t actually cause a patient to fall asleep – rather they will remain conscious, be able to follow instructions from the dentist but be in a deep state of relaxation throughout. The treatment is extremely safe and will greatly reduce any worries or anxieties that a nervous patient may have during their visit – it’s also great to help patients that have a strong gag reflex.

Being someone who is petrified of the dentists, never have I ever felt so relaxed and reassured when attending appointments. When I first went for my initial consultation I thought that nothing could be done to ‘fix’ my teeth, make me smile with confidence and be able to eat out with friends without worrying about a dental disaster. I am now half way through my treatment and last week, 2 of my implant crowns were fitted. My front tooth is fixed and honestly looks amazing!!! I can now smile without worrying. Still a long way to go, but I know that the end goal will be amazing, and I know that I am in the very best of hands with Mitesh and his team. Thank you so much for making me smile once again!

My Dentist, Chad, is totally brilliant. After my teeth were badly damaged/broken by an NHS practice, Chad has worked wonders putting the damage correct and so far, the results are amazing. As a very nervous patient, (due to what happened at NHS) Chad has helped me go through the repair treatment with his explanation, reassurance and gentle manner throughout. All the nurses working alongside him are also wonderfully caring. The reception staff are always welcoming and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to send anyone to this dental practice.
